Once the Metronome Trainer is installed on your computer, it can be utilized in a variety of ways. Below are just a few examples of how you might incorporate it into your training sessions.
Amplifying the Metronome Trainer
- Setup #1: Use your existing PC speakers.
- This is the easiest way to get started, although most computers offer only a limited sound from their built-in speakers.
- Setup #2: Use a sound card to run a set of external PC speakers with a broader range of sound.
- Setup #3: Use a sound card to connect to auxiliary inputs of a stereo amplifier.
- Setup #4: Connect a MIDI sound device to your PC and use the audio outputs to connect to a sound source for playback.
Using your instrument with the Metronome Trainer
- Setup #1: If you prefer a more subdued acoustic sound, you may also choose not to amplify the Metronome Trainer.
- Setup #2: Mic an acoustic instrument and plug it into an amplification source
- Setup #3: Connect your instrument to a MIDI or USB interface and utilize its software sound sources.
Example Setup:
I use my computer with a line6 Guitar port interface, using the accompanying guitar port digital modeling software to generate my guitar tones. I have a Delta 44 Audio sound card installed on my computer, which I to connect to a Mackie mixer board. Finally, I use the outputs of the Mackie board to connect to my Bose L1.
